Hardened sheet steel tool (1.2003) 1000 x 350 mm

With this material, a small addition of chromium leads to a higher wear resistance and better through-hardening with large cross-sections.

The material 1.2003 is magnetisable and can therefore be easily clamped on the magnetic clamping plates of grinding machines.

Due to the high carbon content of around 0.75%, material 1.2003 should not be welded.

Mild steels are not resistant to corrosion. When used in a normal environment, these steels must be protected against corrosion with paint, tinning or zinc plating.
